About Us
Peruvian Roots, American Blooms — Our Story
When I moved from Peru to the United States, I carried more than just memories — I brought the scent of ají amarillo in the kitchen, the taste of fresh herbs from my mother’s garden, and the warmth of family meals shared at home. But here in Ohio, those familiar flavors were missing. The seeds that once thrived in the Andes struggled in the cold soil.
So, I began to plant — not just to grow food, but to stay connected to where I came from. My first garden was small, just a few pots of Peruvian herbs and peppers that I carried indoors through the winter. Every year, the frost would take them. And every spring, I started again.
Each season became a lesson in hope.
When the snow melts and the tulips bloom, I’m reminded that every year is a new beginning — a chance to grow, to nurture, and to keep our heritage alive through the seeds we plant.
Together with my husband, Jeffrey, we built Peruvian Roots Farm — our small family farm in Ohio, where we work side by side to keep our Peruvian roots alive. We grow our beloved plants, harvest their seeds, and share them with the world.
What began as a way to stay connected to home has grown into a mission — to inspire others to plant their own stories, to honor where they come from, and to believe that even far from home, we can still bloom.
Because every seed holds a story.
Every season holds a promise.
And every bloom begins with roots.
