About the Plant

Red Indian Corn is a traditional heirloom variety featuring rich crimson to burgundy kernels. Its striking color makes it perfect for seasonal displays, but it’s also an excellent choice for grinding into naturally red cornmeal. Strong, tall plants produce full, dense ears with old-world charm.

How to Grow (Simple Steps)

  1. Sow directly outdoors after frost once soil reaches 60°F.

  2. Plant 1 inch deep and 10–12 inches apart.

  3. Keep soil evenly moist until plants are established.

  4. Harvest when ears are dry and husks turn papery.
