About the Plant
Rocoto is one of Peru’s most unique peppers — an ancient variety grown in the Andes for centuries. Recognizable by its thick walls, black seeds, and apple-like shape, it has a bold fruity flavor with intense heat. Rocoto thrives in cooler conditions compared to other peppers and produces abundantly once established.
How to Grow (Simple Steps)

Start seeds indoors 10–12 weeks before the last frost.

Sow ¼ inch deep and keep soil warm (80–85°F) for germination.

Transplant into large pots or directly outdoors after frost.

Provide support as plants can grow tall and bushy.
